The Kruuse Rehab Dog Hock Protector is an external brace for dogs hind hocks. It is specifically created to support the hock area of your dog and to aid with lameness and improve quality of life through a surface support. The hock brace is made from neoprene and with velcro secure tabs to tighten or loosen as required. The dog hock protector is an orthopaedic device that is applied outside the body and compensates for the loss of function. Reduces pain and swelling by back pressure and improves the balance between muscle groups and reduces pain. Improved flexibility in tight muscles enables the dog to quickly regain the normal walking pattern. The hock protector can be used before and after surgery, chronic arthritis ie Osteoarthritis, OCD, Ligament Injuries, Arthritis, ED and other assessments.

When dogs suffer injuries in the lower leg joints such as from the hock joints, there are most often traumatic causes behind why they have occurred. In connection with these complex joints being injured, ligaments are often affected in some way. Either through rupture, bursting or stretching. The healing period is long and the dog needs a support around the joint so that it does not worsen the injury during the healing period. A well-adapted joint protector that repels water is important as the joint protector comes near the ground and easily becomes wet. A wet joint protector cools down the joint and impairs the healing process.

The KRUUSE Rehab Hock Protectors are manufactured of Neoprene and are waterproof. Everything on the inside of the joint protector remains dry even under extremely poor weather conditions. The hock protector is placed with the tip of the hock out through the opening in the protector and then stretched around the leg above and under the joint. 

When fitted correctly, this Dog Hock Brace can have a soothing effect, helping to overcome lameness and joint pain / discomfort and, in doing so, may expedite the healing process and aid longer term recovery / treatment (especially post-surgery), which could then allow the dog to quickly regain normal mobility and well being.

To apply, open the velcro and hock brace. Place the hock brace on your Dog's Hock and close the velcro securley but not do not over tighten. 

The Kruuse Rehab Dog Hock Protector is available in the following sizes: To measure - measure the circumference of your dogs leg above the hock joint in cm's. Please see the additional images for a measuring diagram! You need to fully measure your dog. Using the breeds of dogs to fit guide is only ever an approximate as of course all breeds can vary in size. 

If your dog is inbetween two sizes of hock protectors simply order both sizes and post back the one you do not need. Simply keep the brace like new with all the packaging so we can sell the returned brace as new!
