Urban Horse - How To Choose A Style Of Hoof Boot:

Fit is undoubtedly the most important factor when selecting a hoof boot, the second most important is to choose a boot style suitable for the type of work the rider wants to do with their horse. If the horse’s hoof will fit more than one style of boot, the information below should help you choose which boot is best for the purpose you need it for. If in doubt, contact us on sales@urbanhorse.com or call on 01434 422700 direct for assistance and advice (please have your horses measurements in mm's to hand, along with the size and style boot you are using).

  1. General hacking/ schooling/ pleasure riding (upto 25 miles a week)
    Scoot, Flex, Easyboot Glove, Explora, Swiss Galopper, Old Mac G2, Easyboot Trail, Equine Fusions and Cavallo
  2. Endurance/ Long distance rides or races (over 25 miles a week)
    Scoot, Flex, Easyboot Glove, Explora, Swiss Galopper, Easyboot Glue-On, Equine Fusions.
  3. Multi-day use (without removal overnight)/ Holidays/ Competition
    Easyboot Glue-On
  4. Therapeutic Boots / Injury
    Easyboot RX, Cloud, Equine Fusions, Old Mac G2, Trails and Cavallo
  5. Jumping/ Hunting/ Eventing
    (For competitive use, check rules with the appropriate body) Old Mac G2/ Easyboot Trails for short distances, Scoot, Flex, Explora, Swiss Galopper, Easyboot Glove, Glue-On, Equine Fusions and Cavallo.
  6. Driving

  7. Deep mud/ Snow
    Scoot, Old Mac G2, Explora, Swiss Galopper, Equine Fusion All Terrain and Cavallo are ideal for deep, wet and soft going or any appropriate boot fitted with Studs.
  8. Hoof protection in case of a lost shoe
    Trails, Equine Fusion and Cavallo are ideal for ease of use and the ability to purchase them singularly, but any appropriately sized hoof boot can be used.
  9. Controlled turn Out - Cavallo, Easyboot RX, Clouds, Old Mac G2, Trails or Equine Fusions are best.
